Dr. Matiyar Rahaman Khan is currently working as Principal Scientist (Nematology) at Division of Nematology, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India. He has worked as Associate Professor in Nematology at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV), State Agriculture University (SAU), India since 2009. In 1997, he was appointed as Lecturer in Nematology at the BCKV, SAU, India. Later, he was promoted as Senior Lecturer in 2001, as Reader in 2006 and as Associate Professor in 2009 at the BCKV, SAU, India
Dr. Matiyar Rahaman Khan received his B.Sc.(Ag) Hons in Agriculture in 1992 at the Palli Siksha Bhavana (Institute of Agriculture), Sriniketan, Visva-Bharati University, (Santiniketan), West Bengal, India. Dr. Matiyar Rahaman Khan obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Nematology from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India in 1994 and 1997, respectively. He further got M.Sc. in Ecology & Environment in 2003 from Sikkim Manipal University, India.
Dr. Matiyar Rahaman Khan`s current research interests are Nematology (Nematode Taxonomy, Nematode Biocontrol, Nematode Information Documentation and Mapping, Nematode Management in Tuberose, Jute, Rice, Tomato, Banana, Cucurbits, Nematode Awareness Campaign) and extending advisory services to farmers on Crop Protection Problems in West Bengal.
